AVST-E22 Episode Header v2.0

Cut through the noise of post-CEDIA coverage with our take on the stories that really mattered for you and your business.

Show Notes:
Release Date: November 1, 2015
Running Time: 1:00:28

Have you ever actually tried to drink from a firehose? We haven’t either, but it doesn’t sound like fun. Trade shows on the other hand, well… they are a blast. It’s just that pesky, but necessary, by-product of information overload that leaves you feeling like you’re at the nozzle-end of an old cliché. As a result it’s no small wonder that systems integrators are always on the lookout for easier ways to separate the wheat from the chaff (if you’ll forgive one more cliché).

To that end we present this month’s episode, a summary of the stories from CEDIA 2015 that really mattered to you and your business. As the largest stateside event of the year for residential integrators, CEDIA presents no shortage of relevant stories for commercial integrators as well. In terms of the key themes we saw, this year’s show was by and large a continuation of the big stories from 2014’s Expo in Denver. Replete with audio interviews from the show floor, our ‘CEDIA Sound Off’ episode covers key takeaways from Dallas including the continued overlap of the DIY and CEDIA channels, increasing interest in RMR and Managed Service offerings, a growing base of a B2B software solutions tailored for integrators, and much much more.

Like any other trade show, the floor at CEDIA’s Expo abounds with chatter, fueled by marketing hype and speculation over the ‘next big thing’. Our goal in producing this month’s episode was to help you cut through noise, dissecting the significant stories, and leaving the shiny-object-syndrome to others. As always we hope enjoy the show.
