Although it wasn’t all that long ago, many of us forget that Apple’s unveiling of the iPad was a watershed moment in the world of ProAV and Systems Integration. Prior to the iPad hitting the market, consumers had very few options for a touchscreen interface, and they were all dedicated (and very expensive) touch panels from the big boys of automation.
The iPad changed all of that. And for Systems Integrators, Launchport changed the iPad. With it’s unique inductive charging system, Launchport products combine the convenience of a fixed touchscreen with the mobility of “floating” iPad. Consumers and Integrators alike seem to love the product.
Derick joined us for a conversation about Launchport. We discuss the challenges of evolving alongside Apple’s ever-changing line of products, the possibility of future Android docks, the product development process, and much more. We also discussed Launchport’s new sleeve with hard buttons. This product looks to solve one of the main gripes about using iPads as automation touchscreens by adding the convenience of always-on hard buttons to the sleeve. Very cool stuff. We hope you enjoy!
